Day 73 out of 100 to Learn Masonic Ritual, which also means it’s four weeks today until your Installation Ceremony. Yesterday we took a break from the Third Degree ceremony to have another quick revision of the Installation Ceremony (the day before was spent on the Third Degree Exhortation).
We are back on the Raising today.
Learning Masonic Ritual, Day 73 of 100: Fifteen Fellowcrafts
The part commonly referred to the Fifteen Fellowcrafts in the Third Degree Ceremony is on pages 183-188 in my book of Emulation Ritual. It is very unlikely that you have to perform this in most Lodges, especially if this is your first time in the Chair.
As ever, do check that you aren’t expected to do it. Also, if during your year in the Chair you will be performing two Raising ceremonies it is possible that may be asked to do this the second time round.
During this study plan we have been skipping over pieces of ritual that it is unlikely that you will be performing from the Chair (such as the Working Tools). I have decided to keep the Fifteen Fellowcrafts in though because it pays to have familiarity with the piece so you aren’t caught by an surprises. Knowing how the story progresses also ensures you have the understanding of the Raising ceremony as a whole, which is useful for presenting as it helps move your ritual from merely repeating the words to creating a connection with the Candidate which they will remember.
