Day 91 out of 100 to Learn Masonic Ritual, and that means it’s now 10 days until Installation ceremony time! (I know that 91 + 10 = 101, but this 100 Day Study Guide is designed to finish the day before the ceremony, you don’t want to be learning Ritual the morning of your Installation into the Chair!) Having completed our Revision of the Third Degree yesterday, today it’s…

Masonic Ritual, Day 91 of 100: Revising Installation Ceremony

In my book Investing the Officers starts on page 214 with the IPM, then picks up with the Senior Warden on page 223, through the Offices to page 235, then Resuming is on page 68 and Closing the Lodge is pages 62-65. Yep, rather predictably it’s back to revising Installation Ceremony.

This time I did my revision whilst driving. There were a couple of places where I wanted to double check my words in the book – but obviously this was once I was parked up and it was save. Fortunately this checking was more of a confirmation that I was correct, and a few little errors here and there were minor errors that probably wouldn’t have been noticed by many but the most proficient Ritualist. For some reason I still have the odd issue with the Deacons, as the “care and attention” sentence is different, yet similar for both the Senior and Junior Deacon.

It seems that once I’ve had a quick look I remember it for the rest of the day, but get muddled again the next day. I’m feeling confident now that I can put the book aside and spend this final week or so working on the presentation, not learning and revising. Basically, 99% of the required ritual in my head, now we can concentrate on getting it back out to a high standard in front of all your Lodge members and guests. (The remaining 1% will get sorted in the process.)
